How is the Racal Dog Litter Box different from other dog litter systems? IMPORTANT: The Rascal Dog Litter Box has sides, unlike other flat "tray" type boxes that have no splash guards. With the Rascal Dog Litter Box, your dog or puppy will step into an easily accessible lowered front entrance to the box. The sides of the Rascal Dog Litter Box products are six inches, which allows for a male to lift his leg and urine is much less likely to hit the walls or the floor. A flat "tray" litter pan does not contain the mess. Having sides on the box is equally important for female dogs. Their back end won't hang over the edge as it would on a flat tray unit or worse yet, some dog litter box companies expect your dog or puppy to step up on a platform with no sides to contain the mess. Is there a weight limit on the size of a dog that can you use the Rascal Dog litter Box Systems? The "Little Squirt" is designed for dogs who are 8 pound and under. The "BIG SQUIRT" is fitted for dogs who are 9 - 35 pounds. How is the fecal matter cleaned from the box? Simply pick up the stool with a tissue and dispose of properly. If your dog or puppy has a loose bowel movement, rinse the grass prior to placing the item in the washing machine. Can an older dog be trained to use the Rascal Dog Litter Box? Yes, but it will be more difficult than a young puppy. I was able to train my dog Snoopy who was 13 years old. Be patient, offer plenty of treats and rewards and most importantly be consistent with the training. Remember that your older dog was probably never taught to eliminate in the home at any time, unless it was on newspapers or puppy pads. Please keep your dog in a crate during the training period. If your dog is use to eliminating on piddle pads or newspaper the transition to the box is usually very smooth. Please review the training tips on the training tips tab. Is the grass harmful if my puppy or dog eat or chew on the grass? No, The product is not toxic and it is LEAD FREE. The product is actually designed to be placed in home owner's yards where children and pets would be playing outdoors. |
| Will two or more dogs use the same box? Yes! Most dogs like to urinate on top of each other's scent. What is the purpose of the "canine grass"? it is softer on your dog's paws and the grass fibers simulate natural grass. The potty experience needs to be pleasant so that your pet will return to use the litter box. Also, the grass covers up unsightly dried urine stains which occur if you pet is trained to piddle pads or newspaper. Who wants to see dry urine on old papers? The grass has a rubber backing. The rubber The grass serves several purposes. First, backing helps to control and contain the odors in the bottom of the box if you don't have time to drain the urine in the basin frequently or to clean the litter box. Does the grass come scented? Yes, each piece of "canine grass" is sprayed with an attraction scent to encourage your dog or puppy to use the litter box. Also, a free bottle of scented RASCAL DOG training spray is sent out with every litter box order. Is the litter box portable? Yes! All of the litter box products from the Rascal Dog Litter Box company are lightweight, only 5 pounds. All of the litter boxes have grab handles located on either side of the box for an easy transport. Is the grass stain resistant? Yes, urine and fecal matter will not stain the grass. What is the usual training period? This varies dog to dog. It usually takes approximately a week. Be patient, consistent and offer praise and treats. Please start the training process when you know you will have time to teach your dog or puppy, i.e. a weekend. Is the Rascal Dog Litter Box returnable? Due to health and safety issues the litter box is not returnable. Be assured that the litter box that you are receiving is a brand new product which has never been used. Excludes weekends and holidays. All orders are shipped UPS GROUND except to Hawaii, Alaska and APO BOXES. These are shipped PARCEL POST.
